computer still running slow after deleting malware? I had malware infecting my computer not long ago, and deleted it with an antivirus and have run several scans with both malware detectors and my normal antivirus, but since I got it, my computer has been running really slow and freezing up on me. Anyone have any suggestions? I would prefer not to have to pay to get it fixed. Security - 8 Answers - 2010-03-28 20:10:31 Best Answer Download ccleaner.com, clean all the crap out of your computer and applications, then run the registry cleaner. Run the registry cleaner several times and then delete the bad keys. That should help quite a bit. Good luck. The malware you had may have been more malicious than you think. Special logs will be needed to verify this. And special tools will be needed to remove the malicious leftovers! 2010-03-28 20:18:06 Answer 6 Your computer maybe free of the Malware and virus' but the registry maybe clogged along with the internet couche...get this free product...which i highly recommend to everyone....its Advanced System Care 3...its a free product and will do 10 times more than CC Cleaner does....and once you complete the initial scan i think your going to be shocked at the number of errors it finds...on my first run it found over 8700 errors ...everything from Malware, Adware, Spyware, bad registry items...Temporary Windows files, cookies....you name it ...it found it.....I have Avast along with Malwarebytes and Super anti-spyware also....with Advanced System Care 3...they all work wonderful together.. 2010-03-28 20:55:07 Answer 7 The Windows Registry is the master control center for your operating system and applications it runs. This all happens in the background without you even noticing. When your PC was new, this was no problem, but the longer you have your computer, the more programs you install on it and the more the registry becomes bloated and damaged. This is the reason that your PC is running slower and might crash all of a sudden without warning. Your computer needs to work hard to go through all the registry bloat, or it might simply crash if it comes across a faulty entry.A registry cleaner will scan and repair your registry.Frequent maintenance using a registry cleaner is crucial to make your computer go faster.I should like to commend Registry Easy http://best-way-to-improve-pc-performance.com to you ! 2010-04-01 04:59:24 |
